Colin McRae : DiRT

Controls

I could sum it up in on sentence by stating that they are very well balanced. They are sensitive enough for you to tweak your car’s position but not overly twitchy so that you end up zig-zagging from side to side, trying to wrestle control.

The real twitchy part is when you are moving at some speed trying to keep your line on dirt and you are desperately trying to avoid the boulders just next to you. The margins for error can be slim and the punishment can be as simple as you doing cartwheels for 15 seconds. Because you can cut it so fine, you always have the impression that you could take 5 seconds off your last time – with a few more bolder manoeuvres next time.
